I don't like the idea of opening a new tab to chat for mobile. It give me ( so Im assuming for customer too ) the feeling as if some "POP UP ADS" just get triggered and will hit the back button to stay on the page.
Its fine to let the chat box fill the whole screen, but want to stay on the same page and able to collapse the chat box when want.
Can we have option for that?89 votes
We have updated the widget today, stylized, resized and changed the icon, as well as loading the chat above your site, as opposed to pushing the visitor to a separate tab as it did before.
While chating with potential visitor, we may need to send such doc or présentation or special document. It's very useful instead send it (or receive it) via email !. Sales admi85 votes
When you use document.write() to inject a script, the browser is not able to continue parsing the HTML. The web browser is forced to wait for the resource to load AND to be executed.85 votes

I run an online tutoring website that promotes anonymity, and the Pre-Chat form would be a great way for the visitor to indicate what subject (department) they need help in. However, the "Your Name" field shows automatically, and there's no way for me to remove it. This completely defeats the anonymous aspect of the service.
If "Your Name" could be a field like "Email" where we can check a box for it to be requested, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!84 votes

I have a feature request, which will be very useful for marketing activities.
When we get offline messages on mail, we are unable to find out from which page the visitor is sending the offline messages.
If we can have a small feature of tagging the URL of the page, it will help a client a lot with a faster response time to their visitors.
I hope others will also find this useful.

This feature is already available, it is called “triggers” which can be found in your Site or Page settings.
It would be great to be able to choose the exact urls to display the chat widget or almost a blacklist for not displaying it. For example,display only in domain.com/contact in case of whitelist. In some pages (for example landings pages) i don´t want to show this option in my web, so could be a good idea adding a blacklist for these. Perhaps more people has this need too. Regards75 votes

The ban function has been improved a bit and we hope you find it useful.
Although, banning someone 100% is not possible as there are many ways of overcoming the ban but here is a potential advice:
If you want certain IP addresses to be excluded from your site, you ban them on your websites server side as we don’t have access to such information about your sites.
Hope this explains the limitations and gives information on moving forward.
When users attach an image via live chat. The image is displayed inline.
Unfortunately, this isn't the same when users respond to a ticket. This gives a download link instead.

I have someone spamming my message center. they have added themselves as a CONTACT. There is nowhere to DELETE a CONTACT. I understand I can BAN but I would also prefer to have the ability to delete contacts also.64 votes
Ability to delete contacts has been added into agent dashboard.
After updating tawk in the PROPERTY MEMBERS section, when we disable access to the operator, we stop seeing its name. This is very inconvenient because when the operator change starts it is harder to find because the name is not displayed and you need to open it to see its name. Please specify if this can be fixed. This feature was available in tawk.to, but later it was removed by requests of users.
It is visible only on the agent side.
Currently if the tawk.to JS is inserted into a page it will show on that page (obvsiouly). But some sites use header/footer templates. This can sometimes cause the chat widget to show up on an unintended page.
Also, some pages don't require chat, but the site visitor statistics on the dashboard can still be useful.
I propose adding the ability to exclude specific site urls from showing the widget.58 votes

You can exclude widget from any URL by going into Wordpress Admin – tawk.to plugin and check the box: “Exclude on specific url”.

Can it be set up so that within the scheduled hours we can get a push notification to the phone apps?
I don't want to always have it open but am often able to answer questions.

In case of Android mobile app:
Some brands like Huawei, Xiaomi, Asus, Oppo and several others are fully blocking application in background not allowing to start apps notification receiver service. Until the app is not swiped away from “Recent apps” they will come or by enabling background work for the app.
Also some management apps can suppress push-notification, for example “Clean Master” app. Ensure that tawk.to is not blocked by such apps.
