Pre chat form after trigger
I have pre chat form and trigger both on my chat widget. But the problem is after trigger is fired and displayed my message to visitors, there is no chat form displayed and user can directly chat with us.
Please change it so that user have to fill pre chat form even if any trigger is already called to display message to visitors.
We have released new design for the tawk,to chat widget.
With it user will be required to fill data into Pre-chat form, after he received welcoming trigger message and opens the chat widget.

We would love to use more triggers to engage our visitors but the problem is that using a trigger completely by-passes the pre-chat form.
Can this please be developed?

Sorry just for clarification, my issue was that my pre chat form does not fire as configured upon clicking of the chat icon. Then I figured the there is a trigger that triggers another message and overrides this pre chat form into a different message. So all I had to do was disable this trigger and pre chat form worked perfectly. This is just to clarify and isolate my issue with the main concern of this post that a trigger and a pre chat are both needed. My apologies but might help others that are new to the settings.

Yes the contact form should be a separate setting from the behavior of the customer engagement. We need to always collect name and email in our business for follow up.
the pop open is good for increasing chats.

Not sure if this is being considered, but it would be a huge help if you could use a trigger to initiate the conversation. Then, even if it was not a prechat form, have something where the client would be required to fill in their name and email.
As simple as this is, it would be a game changer.

triggers are pretty useless. I get a bunch of messages from people that leave within minutes before an agent is available and NO NAME OR EMAIL. come on...

I would like tawk.to to open automatically with a trigger, on the pretchat form.
Would it be possible to allow the setting of this?
Pop up chat after 5 minutes and then let customer fill in details before chatting
Now the pop-up trigger overwrites the mandatory input settings....

I'm trigger a message asking the name and email, but the form will be great...

This would be an excellent addition, most of our chats come from triggers but there's no way to gather the customer contact details first.
I just googled for the same issue and arrived here. Same issue as explained and it's a major inconvenience for us. We'd like to have a prechat form always no matter whether we use a trigger or not to prompt the guest to chat with us.

I am having the same critical issue. The prechat form is basic, important functionality that should work reliably. What is the status of this bug? This was submitted over two months ago, and I see no response/resolution here.

After Trigger Message when user try to start without Name and Email user can not start chat
Bypassing pre-chat form when using a trigger seems like a bug but this seems outstanding for many years. I hope this can be fixed then we can use triggers.
