change the icon of the mobile widget!
Please let us choose the shape of the icon on our mobile widget. I had a nice rectangle shape and with the new update this is changed into a text bubble which takes up more space! I do not like this new icon and I cannot change it, please let us choose!
We have updated the widget today, stylized, resized and changed the icon, as well as loading the chat above your site, as opposed to pushing the visitor to a separate tab as it did before.
So just so I am clear... there is or is not a way to replace the green circle button with my own icon?
The mobile version of the app really interferes with UI
Users are unable to navigate as the widget is placed over page numbers and other elements depending on the page be viewed.
I have a sticky add to cart on scroll and of course, the widget also covers this.
So i tried disabling the widget on load and launching it through text and while it works. once the user closes the chat, the widget does not stay loaded. Yes, the user will hear a ding when a response is received but they will not see any notification of this due to the widget absence.
I also think that these settings should be separate for mobile and desktop as it also affects the desktop but the desktop version is not the problem. We can live with the desktop widget.
What I would like to know is, are there any plans to:
1. Make the widget customizable - size and position?
2. Hide on Load for Mobile only but show once launched until the chat is ended?
Can you please point out the video (give link to it)?
You've got a video here explaining how to change the graphics used for the Tawkto widget but there's no option in Admin to change the image when you follow the steps in the video.
Please correct this error.
No, at the moment text or icon change for mobile widget is not available
Is it possible to change text 'Mail' to 'Offline' on mobile?
I agree, ability to adjust the position and size of the chat button on mobile is Critical to success of the chat plugin.
we're also considering not using Tawk.to because of the size of the mobile button. This should be customizeable, but even better, the widget size should be dynamic according to the device viewport. On smaller screens the widget icon is really enormous!
I am adding my voice that the chat button on mobile display need to be enhanced. However, my need is slightly different.
While I have no issue with the fact that I could choose the round button without text on it, I agree with the rest that it is a bit too big for mobile screen. I can live with it if you allow me to shift it a little bit around (towards up/down/left/right) by small amount of pixels. You can easily offer this customisation to the users; as I've seen it in several other Chat apps.
So, let's say I choose the location to be on the lower-right (your default location at the moment); I need to move the button up by 5 pixels, and towards the left by 3 pixels. It would still be showing at the bottom-right of the page, but the alignment would be adjusted just a slight little bit.
Why would I need this? I am using another app called HotJar (which is a feedback/suggestions collector). It also display it's arrow at the same area, just underneath the chat button, and it is slightly covering the bottom of the button. If you allow me to resize/move your chat button a little bit; I could make it look really nice there, and it won't be jammed with the other apps that compete on the same space.
I can't stress enough to tell you how important this matter is to me.
I would really like to use Tawk.to, but find the mobile widget TOO invasive for small screens. And without the ability to customize it, I'm afraid I will have to look elsewhere. It's a shame... Great product, horrible mobile execution. And with mobile browsing on the rise, whoever gets mobile chat right - wins.
Thanks for the product, but you should think more seriously about listening to your 'potential' customers.
We are rolling out a new rectangle design with the word chat as a selection option :
Check it here : http://prnt.sc/av03w9
1. I think you will find that the 8 of the top 10 companies offering live chat services on a mobile widget, all use an icon and not text.
2. We will be offering customizable chat widgets in the future, where you can add your own text - so feel free to check back then.
3. We process millions of chats every day, and test & document which widgets convert to a higher engagement rate - the icon works way better than the word chat, in every test we have done.
Regardless, we wish you and your business the best of luck with chat application of your choice. Whether completely free with tawk.to or one of the many great paid services out there.
The more companies on chat, the better the experience for end users - even if it isn't with tawk.to! :)
I'd moved on from Tawk because the mobile widget was such a frustration. My customers weren't engaging because they didn't have a clue what the bubble was. With no text strap indicating 'chat' it just wasn't usable. I got notification the widget has been updated so I reinstalled and ... what a disappointment. Still no 'chat' on the icon to tell people what it is. Hopeless. What is it about Tawk .. the only live chat company I know that doesn't allow text on the mobile app but apparently everyone else is wrong and Tawk are right.
It was nice of you to prompt me to try again but it's not for me I'm afraid.
@Max - please send screenshot to email@example.com
We do not intend to launch a 'resize' feature for mobile.. though after todays updates, it definitely shouldn't be too big on any device.
When will i be able to reduce the icon size on mobile devices, it's a little too big. Thanks guys
Has it been rolled out. Do we need to do something to get it?
Admin: We will be rolling out a decreased size of the widget this weekend. posted on 16 april.
can you please tell us when the icon will be changed?>
I just started using this and agree that the mobile button is too large. Has it changed yet or is the current size the new smaller size? It does look too big for my website. Wish it was about half or 2/3 the currenr size. The desktop version is perfect and i love it otherwise!
More presentable graphic would be great help.
