    We currently don’t have an option to limit the agent from joining a chat or chat assignment to a specific agent.

    You can consider the following suggestions to help manage your new agents:

    3. Set up Departments and add a Pre-chat form.

    Departments are especially helpful for big teams, making sure only the right agents answer the chat.

    To set up Departments, you will first need to enable the Pre-Chat form for your site widget and then set up the actual Departments.

    The Pre-Chat form will require your visitor to answer a set of questions before a chat commences.

    Follow these steps to set up your Pre-Chat form :

    1. In your Dashboard, click the Admin gear icon in the left sidebar.
    2. Select Widget Content.
    3. Enable the Pre-Chat form by toggling the Pre-Chat form button to on.
    4. Select the Department option.

    NOTE: Be aware that enabling a Pre-Chat Form is likely to decrease the number of chats you receive. Statistically, it is known to reduce engagement by up to 37%.

    To set up the actual Departments:

    1. Click the Admin gear icon in the left sidebar.
    2. Then click on Departments.
    3. Click Add under the Departments column for that site.

    This is how the Department function works for tawk.to chat.

    ​1. Chats can be assigned to Departments. All Agents, including those who are not assigned there, can see the incoming chats. However, only those who are assigned to the Department will get a notification.

    ​2. This allows for easy chat take-over, especially if the transfer is from one Department to another.

    3. ​In Departments, the other agents only hear the notification sounds if there are no agents currently online in the department the visitor has selected. The only time it rings for all agents is when no agents are currently online for the Department selected. This prevents the chat from going unanswered.

    ​4. Currently, there is no setup to hide chats from other Departments.

    We currently don’t have a ring notification each time the user opens a new page/tab.

    We do, however, have a ring notification for “new visitors”. You can enable this ring if you wish to proactively reach out to your visitors.

    ​You can start a chat with your visitors by clicking on the visitor in the monitoring section of the dashboard. Then simply click the join button in the chat window to start a chat.

    With regards to this concern, once the members have been removed from the property, you won’t be able to delete their names manually in the group chat list.

    I would recommend asking the members to “leave” the chat group first before deleting them from the property. Alternatively, create a new group chat with the rest of the team members.

    Chat continuity is currently not available with our chat widget.

    Alternatively, you can do the following for easy management of your repeated customers:

    1. Save the contact details of your customers.

    You can gather the Name and email of your customer using Shortcuts/canned responses and through a Pre-chat form. Once the details are saved, you don't need to ask for their email address again.

    2. Provide your Personal Direct Chat link.

    You can provide your Personal Direct Chat link to your customer if they wish to speak to you again and skip the general chat support. You can attach your Direct Chat link to your email signature or directly send it to them via chat or email.
